The Tower Of Babble

My tastes in comedy are quite broad, but I’m particularly drawn to the “Calling A Spade A Spade” style. Throw in that Aussie dry, laconic, knowing look, you hit pay dirt!

Basically, if it doesn’t offend anyone, it’s not at all funny!

I promised myself, I won’t use this blog to descend to the depths of pitiless wankerdom, but I must say, it is fucking hard to bite my tongue at times.

Go and read the shit, sorry, threads at See Hear forum, especially anything relating to sign language. I detest forums generally, cos they are basically meeting places for wankers, where nothing gets communicated, except for massaging someone’s ego, the odd titter and follow up guffaws [at their rather lame jokes].

Anyway, its quite stupefying to watch how a debate becomes the textual equivalent of a slowly filling toilet bowl - except that you can flush a toilet bowl. And, bye, bye Turds! On See Hear? Fuck me dead! The same old pre-programmed shit.

Let me say that again. Pre-programmed shit! [and quite frankly, it feels really good to swear. Fucking good! Aussie style. Makes no bones].

V For Vendetta II

There is so much to like about this movie. V For Vendetta the movie is based on the comic book series of the same name.

It was made by the same people who produced The Matrix, [I didn't bother watching the third instalment as I lost interest half through the second,] and politically more charged. I would say it’s the most politically charged film I have seen in ages.

Parallels are drawn between Thatcherite England, Hitler’s Germany and Bush’s Modern Day America [his number one fan, Howard, is flea on his arse], which is a culmination of styles gathered from various dictators and despots throughout the ages.

Against this backdrop, V, whom we never get to know his real identity, is shining beacon in the murky depression that our mass induced stupor and lethargic population has willed into existence. While some people may find his actions ambivalent, [the actions of the state and its henchmen are far more reprehensible] I find myself rooting for him and willing him on to success.

V, the masked avenger reminds of the character in a story I’m trying to write [for the stage/ film - haven't decided], Brother Divine, the perennial outsider, estranged from the community and people. The question is though, WHY has Brother Divine become estranged from humanity?

V Is For Vendetta, and I’m back!

The muckraking I willingly and obligingly indulged a few months back, was getting tiresome, and so I had my blog removed from the deaf-blogs aggregator, because the whining from the town of Babble was worse than a simpering dog in heat.

I took the opportunity to re-assess. The end result, is that I am back with a vengeance

I have set up a number of blogs and each will have their own theme. This is the first of them, ALL THE YOUNG DUDES.

ALL THE YOUNG DUDES, will explore all things social and cultural from a Deaf perspective; and in spite of the town of Babble beliefs that there is no such thing as Deaf culture, we know otherwise!

The title of this posts shares its name with the movie of the same name. I’m not going to relay the story, theme or plot, other than to say, that it is fun-fucking-tastic. If you like political parables and are a fan of irony, vengeance, revolution, freedom, life, and that politicians are low life, scum sucking sleaze bags you will enjoy this movie.

So mesmerised by V, the masked freedom fighter, I never thought his mask would betray so much emotion.
